What to Tweet on Twitter?

April 7th, 2012

Are you have having a hard time finding things to Tweet on Twitter? I’ll share two tools that I use to add content to Twitter.

The first website that I just adore is Paper.Li  (see side bar for link), I collect all of my favorite rss feeds in one place and get an email every time it gets updated. I have 10 (the limit) versions of online papers ranging from social media to online book marketing. Sometimes instead of going to a local newspaper site, I go to my Paper.li site to see information that I’m really interested in.

You can use Paper.Li to get material for your Twitter account from here. Most of the time the blog that has the article has a share button that you can share with your Twitter followers. It would be nice if Paper.li had an RSS feed for each paper but not at the time of this writing. Here is a tool I found that would create an RSS feed from your Paper.Li.

The second tool that I’ve found is the iftt.com website site. You can create different task by taking the programming code If This Then That and create your own tasks.

There are recipes created by other people that you can use. Personally having a programming background, I’ve would of name it objects but that’s just me. I used the one where you post quotes from an RSS on you Twitter account. From this I’ve created one that posts quotes to your Facebook page from an RSS feed.

The recipe was originally used for inspirational quotes but I changed it to parenting quotes for a client’s twitter site. I changed it by going to the source of the tweets and changing the tagged search name.

Example

Original RSS feed

http://www.quotesdaddy.com/feed/tagged/Inspirational

New RSS feed

http://www.quotesdaddy.com/feed/tagged/parenting

My user name for Iftt is amsamuels if you want to search for me.

3 Web Sites to Look for Guest Bloggers

February 6th, 2012

Are you looking for guest bloggers? Look no more. I’ve found a few sites that you can request or offer guest post.

Guest posts on your site can increase generate more traffic to your site and attract more customers to your website or online newsletter subscription.

The benefits of posting your article on other blogs increases traffic to your website, increase your brand across websites.

If you request for people to post your article on their site make sure that it has been proofread (even by someone else) to make sure you present a good image.

Here are the ones that I’ve found:

  1. Blogger Link Up – I’ve heard from several sources that this is a good site to sign up for. I haven’t personally signed up for it but it’s a great option if you want to have another perspective.
  2. My Blog Guest – This is another good site that you can request or post blog articles.
  3. Blog Synergy – This one last resource for getting more hits and links on your page to other page.

  5. WordPress SEO – This by far is the best one I have ever seen.

To install plugins go into your WordPress dashboard, select plugins from the side menu -> search plugins copy and paste partial or full name of plugin and choose from the results. I always have a habit of looking at how many people have downloaded it and how many stars it has.
